pension discrimination
Already since considerable time much attention to the
equal treatment of men and women has there also existed in pension
country. Mostly this concerns forms of indirect discrimination
such as excluding participation to a pension scheme of part-time
employees. Since much more women work part-time than men this is
considered as indirect discrimination of women insurers a discount is
frequently granted on the surviving dependant's pension if a man dies
and a much leave behind younger partner. From the insurer it is
considered this, however, since to understand a partner who was 15
years younger on average still much longer live will continue than if
the partner was years for example only 3 younger. The insurer in
such cases thus much longer must continue pay. To catch this
slightly the insurer applies mostly a discount on the surviving
dependant's pension, which meanss that the benefits become lower the
commission equal treatment however already a lot of times have let
know that discount also this is a form of indirect discrimination.
There are much more men with (much) women younger as a partner
than the other way around. By the discount thus leading women
are disadvantaged. Recently the commission equal treatment has
again pronounced a judgement on the discount on the surviving
dependant's pension in case the partner (female) is more than 10 years
younger than (male) the participant. In this case was the age
difference more than 23.5 year. The benefit became therefore
considerably shortened. The Commission believes that the pension
executant makes indirect distinction on the basis of line in the
implementation of the discount regulation. Does the Commission
equal treatment have how frequently say now that this cannot before
pension executants abolish these discount regulations? Pay
attention at your pension scheme to such provisions, they are contrary
to the equal treatment regulations
