basis insurance medical expenses
By 1 January 2006 there a new care scheme becomes
effective. With the so-called basis insurance the government
wants stimulate competition under care insurers. The basispolis
are an obligatory health insurance, which replaces the health
insurance fund and the private health insurance. It is a
standard package to necessary care and applies to all residents of the
Netherlands. The standard package agrees roughly to the health
insurance fund care insurers has been obliged accept everyone,
irrespective of the age or the health risk. Additional insurance
can be concluded on voluntary basis. For this no acceptance duty
applies
