Less profit for SNS reaal group

SNS reaal has the first six months of 2003 closed with a profit of 73
millions euro, 16 per cent less than a year ago. Both SNS bank
and the insurance leg high Huys made profit, thus SNS reaal Thursday.
SNS reaal sold the largest part of the share portfolio to the
previous months to be no longer dependent of large schommelingen in
the rates. The stealing krach on grant cost half of the profit
in 2002. Sale of the shares provided a loss on of 28 millions
euro. It concerned a package of approximately 700 millions euro.
Omdanks the profit fall in the first six-month period thinks SNS
for the complete year on a ' substantially higher profit ' of ending
up. How much that is exact, SNS has not announced reaal.
