29 September 2003 20.59 UTRECHT - the Dutch track ways raise the
price of the train ticket as from 1 January 2004 with average 4
percents. That the company has announced Monday. Beats the
NS burdens of consumer groups rover and the consumer association in
wind. They state that quality is not yet sufficient such justify
a price increase. The consumer association had rather seen a
tariff increase of 2.25 percent. Rover finds that even too much
and required that the NS makes the tickets with only inflation more
expensive. The contract which has the NS with the ministry of
movement and water state, stipulates that the tickets inflation, next
year can become calculated annually on 1.25 percent, plus 2 per cent
more expensive. The traveller lets wind up to the carrier for
the increase of the track tax, to the so-called infraheffing in 2004.
By the rising costs and the ' financial situation ' of the NS,
see the track ways no other possibility then of charging the costs to
the customer. The turnover of the more expensive tickets is not
put in quality improvement. The annual increase in the price on
1 January stands apart from the appointment which the consumer groups
with the NS have concerning a possible extra tariff increase. As
a carrier over the period of a year 84.4 percent of the tickets go by
train once more 2.075 percent more expensive become on time late
drive, can. This can mean that the train tickets two times in a
year in price increase. (c) DUTCH PRESS AGENCY
