Siemens want save on mobile telephony

elektronicaconcern wants within three years the research - and
development costs at the communicatiedivisie, among which can be
brought among others mobile tel., with 15 per cent omlaag. That
must produce euro to extra savings in the current exercise 400
millions. That the venture has announced Tuesday. The new
initiative comes on top of earlier plans where a cost reduction has
been provided with 500 à 600 millions euro. That provides a
total amount on of 1 billion euro. The divisie mobile tel. is
for quite some time the zorgenkindje of the German concern. In
the first trimester of on 1 October decreased sale of
Siemens-telefoons of 15.3 million started exercise 2004/2005 up to
13.5 million stuks. The divisie suffered a loss of 143 millions
euro. In the same period a year rather the company component
booked still a profit of 64 millions euro. The venture still
thinks after concerning the future of the mobile tel. and does not
exclude sale of the component. For that serves, however, firstly
a suitable candidate to be found. According to top man Lothar
Pauly fence of the divisie it has not been needed, because as a result
lost value would go. However, Siemens will withdraw themselves
from Israel and some Asian countries. Also the concern will
develop none mobieltjes special for the American market more.
