Delta Lloyd books wide a fiftieth more profit

March 2005 10.50 AMSTERDAMS - insurer delta Lloyd has last year booked
a nettowinst of 302 millions euro. That is wide 22 percents more
than in the previous exercise. The company thanks the profit
increase to higher income insurance premiums, whereas the costs
virtually right stayed away. The premium income of the insurer
came from on 5.6 billion euro. This increase of 13 per cent was
realised on own strength, as that delta Lloyd becomes clear Wednesday
published from annual returns. At the important component that
life insurances and pensions sells, lanes the premium income with 16
per cent up to 3.6 billion euro. Income general insurances also
noted to an increase of 16 per cent, whereas the care branch expressed
see small minus. The result for taxes previous year 409 amounted
to millions euro, a record. Of this amount 194 millions euro can
be attributed to koerswinsten on the placement portfolio. With
that the profit less dependent on placement turnovers than in the
previous years, thus delta Lloyd is. The company expects that
all insurance components will get in year also this more premium
income. Also the position on the Dutch mortgage market will
improve. Last year showed an increase of almost 30 per cent, as
a result of which delta Lloyd manages euro to mortgages meanwhile for
9 billion to sale of mortgages. Compared with the increase
expectations also higher costs will stand, thus the insurer foresees.
The costs will come lie next year 10 per cent higher by the
setting-up of the new book keeping rule IFRS. Under the new book
keeping regime the placement results of delta Lloyd continue working
also stronger in the profit figures. For this reason the insurer
