Half of Dutch spends holiday pay on holiday
Spent: 24 May 2005 11.15 that is the results of a
representative research that has been carried out under almost 700
Dutch by pension insurer Zwitserleven and research office TNS nipo.
The research aimed at the spending of the holiday pay of Dutch
men and women of 18 years and older that minimum 15 hours per week in
paid employment are. From the persons questioned 96 per cent
receives this year holiday pay. Of it weet 92 per cent where
them this money on to will spend. Beside holiday, save and
unforeseen expenditure also maintenance of the house (12 per cent),
accounts still due (10 percent), clothing and shoes (8 percent) or
maintenance of the car (7 per cent) is called regular. Marco
Keim, general director Zwitserleven, finds it very well that holiday
pay is especially used for holiday. But we point out people
gladly on the importance to save to be able remain enjoy also later
carefreely. That can be pension supplies or sabbatical.
With a government increasingly further withdrawing the
responsibility for this type matter comes lie more and more at people
themselves. That has been still insufficiently confessed.
From the research the pension conscience becomes clear improve,
however. Two on the five Dutch really regular money for a
pension scheme puts aside. On average per year 1360 euro it is
reserved. People younger than 35 years do this less (33 per
cent) than persons of 35 years and older (44 per cent). Also men
appear more often than women regular put money aside (respectively 43
per cent and 35 per cent). Men reserve not only more often but
money also more for a pension then women (1560 euro per year with
respect to 990 euro). (c) NU.nl
