2005 16.09 BRUSSELS - the European Commission finds that the Dutch
cabinet must consider the calculation crossing out seriously of
mortgage interest. This way the Netherlands can keep the budget
in assessment also on the long period. It concerns moreover only
a recommendation, which mentions state in Wednesday appeared report
Public Finances in EMU 2005. ' Brussels ' does not have to the
competence intervene in the tax calculation, of which nearly all house
own ears profit. From the calculations of the Commission, the
daily governing board of the EU, becomes clear that there more and
more money goes to the deduction. Previous year cost the
Treasury 3.8 percent of the Gross Domestic Product it. Beginning
years ninety was that still 2.2 percent. ' Brussels ' says the
mortgage interest calculation or entirely be crossed out can, or that
there must come maximum to what a house owner can deduct. In
both cases are it judicious, this way stands read further in the
report, to introduce such a ongrijpende modification gradually to
shock in the house market to occur. The report gives also a
recommendation concerning a another extremely sensitive subject:
the aow-premie. At present need 65-plussers this
contribution pay, but the Commission recommends also starting the
elderly with a supplementary pension. Here too a wide
transitional period at its place would be, thus the report. The
Commission thinks that the working population must this way less pay
charges, what is well for the employment. The largest deduction
in the Netherlands is which for the pension contribution. The
Commission finds the however no well idea that of limiting
calculation. The system is well for the pension accrual and
helps to therefore catch the costs of the demographic ageing.
LPF-Tweede-Kamerlid Van As, finds that ' Brussels must keep off
of Dutch hypotheekrente-aftrek.' ' even in areas where Brussels
has no powers, they want place the Netherlands under pressure
already.' Van As tries an extra vote reason for the Dutch
citizens against the European constitution. (c) DUTCH PRESS
