Eu-studenten get study grant
THE HAGUE - students from the European Union can in the
Netherlands complete study financing get if they have lived years here
at least five. They are entitled then to a grant,
openbaarvervoerjaarkaart and a loan.
State Secretary Rutte (education) has written that Monday in

Eu-studenten only to a contribution for the college money. The
Netherlands widens the rules after recent of the European court in
Luxembourg in the case of a French student who required study
financing in United Kingdom. According to the court was entitled
he then because he lived already three years in United Kingdom.
The Netherlands chooses for a period of five years because those
dovetail a European directive which 1 May 2006 becomes effective.
According to this rule EU citizens right to supplies of an
EU-MEMBER state have if they live there longer than five years
legally. The European court stipulated that land study financing
must give to EU citizens, but conditions can put. The student
must live already some years in the country, or have another link with
